BACKGROUND
Amy "Ames" Gambacorta is an Italian-American global fashion designer, creative director and stylist with more than 20 years of worldwide experience. Amy has lived in 5 different countries, in cities such as New York (US), Los Angeles (US), London (UK), Porto (PT), Amsterdam (NL), Milan (IT) and Florence (IT), and has been making clothes for as long as she can remember. She is also considered a quite unconventional designer for originally being self-taught (with the help of learning to sew from her grandmother). Later in her career, Amy attended the Italian design school, Istituto Marangoni, in London, where she received her Master of Arts degree in Fashion Design Womenswear.
SKILLS
Amy has designed across every imaginable category and prides herself on her versatility and ability to design literally anything — starting her early career in New York in fashion editorial; then relocating to Los Angeles where she started assisting a stylist and working on set of a TV show before ending up in LA’s famous denim industry for many years; later moving to London to design ready-to-wear; later moving to Milan to design custom leather jackets and accessories whilst working closely with leather tanneries around Tuscany; later expanding her portfolio into athleisure and active wear collections in Porto, London and Amsterdam; and most recently has taken her first dive into the world of interior design and real estate renovations in Tuscany.

Amy has also involved herself in many other areas of the fashion & creative industries — from concept to design and creative direction, to styling, brand strategy, marketing, art direction and graphic design, to producing photo shoots, editorial work, television and radio projects, to worldwide events, trade shows, philanthropic causes, and now interior design & renovations.
TODAY
Today, Amy lives and works between Tuscany, Milan & London whilst traveling the globe as a design consultant & collaborative design director for various international fashion and lifestyle brands across Europe, the Americas, and beyond.
